Little Alchemies by Cheniece Patrick

If this is you

Maybe you’re reading this in a therapy waiting room

…or the school parking lot, or on the edge of the bed after everyone is finally asleep. Somewhere along the way, your days became appointments, forms and meltdowns, and the woman you used to be went very quiet.

  • You used to have things that were just yours.
  • Self-care advice asks for time and energy you simply don’t have.
  • You love your child fiercely, and you still miss yourself.
You’re not broken. You’re tired. And there is still a you in there.

Your guide

Hi, I’m Cheniece.

Slow-living wife, mom of two (very pretty) autistic littles with complex needs, delightfully “woo” ex-OBM, and lady with more plants than she has space for.

I write Little Alchemies about the real, slow work of finding yourself again inside a life that was never designed to leave you any room… and I’m still in it more than I’d like to admit.

Gentle answers

Questions you might have

Is it really free?

Yes, love, truly. No card, no catch, and no countdown timer quietly ticking in the corner. You add your email, the lessons arrive, and the workbook, prompt cards, quick-start guide and phone wallpapers come right along with them. I made this course because I needed it once, and I’d rather it find you than sit behind a paywall.

How long does it take?

About an hour in total, spread across six short lessons of 5 to 15 minutes each. Watch one in the school pickup line, one while the bath runs, and one next week when the house finally goes quiet. There’s no schedule to keep up with and nobody keeping score, least of all me.

Do I need to be a writer?

Not even a little. If you can text a friend, you can do this. Half-sentences count. Voice memos count. A grocery list with feelings scribbled in the margins absolutely counts. This course is about hearing your own voice again, not about writing beautifully, although you might surprise yourself.

I’m exhausted. Is this going to feel like one more thing?

I built it for exactly that version of you. Every lesson is short, every prompt is optional, and the whole point is to give something back rather than take more from you. If all you manage this week is one lesson and one true sentence, that is a full win, and I mean that.

Do I need a Substack?

No. A notes app on your phone works beautifully, and so does a journal from the dollar store. In lesson three we gently look at Substack and other quiet corners of the internet as an option, and the quick-start guide is there if you’re ever curious. Nothing in this course depends on it.

Will I have to share anything?

Never. Everything you write stays yours. There’s no group to post in, nothing to submit, and nobody reading over your shoulder. This is a private practice, made for the woman who has spent years making room for everyone else.

Can I do this on my phone?

Yes, all of it. The lessons play on your phone, the workbook can be typed into or printed, and the bonus wallpapers are made to fit your lock screen. It all works from wherever you happen to be sitting (or hiding) today.

What are the bonus phone wallpapers?

They’re a set of pretty, on-brand designs for your phone’s lock screen, each carrying a gentle reminder from the course. Think of them as a soft little nudge back to yourself every time you check the time. They’re included with your free sign-up, so there’s nothing extra to do.

What happens after I sign up?

Signing up adds you to my Little Alchemies letters on Substack, which is how your lessons reach you. Your first lesson arrives in your inbox, and the rest follow from there. After the course, you’ll keep receiving my letters: honest notes from inside this same life, never more than a few a month. If they ever stop feeling right, you can unsubscribe in one click, no hard feelings.

Come in, sit down

The door is open.
